Oh I do love a good Apple promo video.
Behind the scenes assembly, light-hanging, crowds waiting
Lots of purple lighting at these venues. Maybe an Elton John thing?
Nope, apparently a Lady Gaga thing.
I have not been to a concert in a long time.
The Many Costumes of Gaga
Getting lots of clips of Ms. Gaga doing her thing on the stage, lots of people cheering, and people cheering here in Cupertino too!
Tim's back. "It's a month of incredible music and I really encourage you to catch a couple concerts."
Okay, time to start the retail discussion.
"As many of you know, we've been expanding our retail footprint outside the United States."
He's talking about the tiny Stamford store just down the road.
Looking at a local store, serving 2,000 per day. Expanding to massive storefront.
This weekend it was replaced with a much larger, more typically glass Apple Store.
It's three-sides of glass, "an architectural marvel." 8x larger than the last one.
Now it looks a lot like the Upper West Side Apple Store style -- lots of glass and high ceilings.
There are two rooms, with the front doing the hands-on stuff. In the other room is the Genius Bar and training and etc.
"A lot of excitement" says Tim in the new store. He wants us all to swing by. Y'all should head over!
Tim wants us to stop by and see it. I don't know if I have time!
"Now also this month we've been hard at work on completing iOS 7. Of course, iOS 7 is the latest version of the world's most advanced mobile operating system."
"Next month we will ship the 700 millionth iOS device." Big applause for that!
So, 700 million iOS devices is a lot.
"iOS 7 will quickly become the world's most popular mobile operating system. It's packed with amazing new features."
Craig Federighi is up on stage!
Not a surprise, really: we're going into iOS 7 first.
"Soon, we're going to witness an event really almost unprecedented in our industry, when virtually overnight hundreds of millions of people download iOS 7."
Getting a brief overview of iOS 7 again.
Going over lock screen, home screen, recap. Which reminds me: I've seen more people using iOS 7 ahead of release than I expected the last few months.
Control panel, notification center, gradients...
